As far as the End Time Scenario is concerned, this may quite some time off. It may happen in our lifetime, and it may not? And, it is a time dominated by the power struggle of two Kings (the Kings of the North and Kings of the South).
These Kings are "not" idiomatic of any Western Confederacy as commonly taught, but are Kings and Kingdoms that are situated directly to Israels North and South. Today, these would be Syria in the North and Egypt (Africa) to the South.
The King of the South will grow strong, and one of his princes will gain ascendency over him. Then, after “some” years, there must be an alliance formed between these two Kings (the King of the South who is in Egypt and neighboring lands, and that of the North who is in Assyria).
The alliance will be by marriage. It will be one of her (The King of the South’s Daughters) descendents that will make his move on the King of the North (King number 6). The King of the South will not be successful, and will return to his land for some years after the King of the North shows his “great strength” by entering Egypt, and then returning to his own land.
The “sons” of the King of the North will mobilize a “great force” and come against the King of the South, and the King of the South will come to meet him, and as the text states, “tens of thousands” will fall. And, after a “number of years", the King of the North comes on again against the King of the South, but the King of the South will fail, as the King of the North will do as he pleases.
This King of the North is the one spoken of in Verses 5-19 in Daniel Chapter 11. He is King number 6 in a sequence of Kings rising out of the North.
After returning to strike the “coastlands”, and being punished by a “commander”, this King then stumbles, falls and is seen no more.
A new King then arises (King number 7) who only lasts a few days (Verse 20).
Then Antichrist (King number 8) appears. His career is documented from Verse 21 onwards, and he then comes to his end in Verse 45.
Verse 23 speaks of an alliance being made.. Could this “alliance” be the 7 year confirmation of the Covenant that he will make with the many (Daniel 9:27).
After some time, struggles commence yet again with the King of the South, Antichrist then begins his war on the Holy ones. At this point we see the ships of Kittim (the West) coming against him (before) he enters the Temple to desecrate it, and this time, in this “last” mother of all battles, Antichrist then passes through Israel. Many countries will fall in this battle.
Ammon, Moab and Edom, are the only 3 Kingdoms that “will” escape this (Antichrist’s: The Final King of the North’s) hand. This warfare continues on until Antichrist comes to his end (Verse 45).
For Bible Prophecy still to come true, Babylon must become the centre of the World again in World Trade and Commerce. Thereafter it must be destroyed after the fashion of Sodom and Gomorrah. Babylon has been under construction for the past 30 years or so (that we know of). 0ne of the Great Halls was used for affairs of State by Saddam Hussein in the late 1980’s.
This Antichrist character is Iraq based, like his predecessor Saddam Hussein was.
This prophecy may, or may not happen in our lifetime, but when it does, the above describes how it will pan out.
This is all happening in the Middle East. Babylon was the first World Empire. We are going to see the emergence of this glory of Babylon again. We are going back to where it all began, before it all comes to its end.
Until we do see this, it could be very many more years away yet before it all begins to happen? We don’t know? We cannot be certain, but a Temple must be in place in Jerusalem before Antichrist desecrates it, and the Abomination that causes desolation is set up. The latter events mark the beginning of the Great Tribulation.
But, even though the Earth undergoes change now, we should not fear, because these events are still for an appointed period in time. And this time is a time and a scenario that is all Middle East centered.
